Music was once a three-storey building:
Between the abstraction of Musica mundana (the music of the spheres) and the almost too practical Musica instrumentalis (which in everyday life *is* music) lies the strange level of Musica humana. Strange because we live and walk in its sphere without realising it. We are in the midst of music, hearing it, creating it -- however, not necessarily as musicians. A kitten strolling on the piano is not a musician. Often in many respects we are like kittens (or elephants) -- the instrument is there but our musicianship isn't.
My project "Musica humana -- extended musicality" tries to focus on this neglected but omnipresent dimension of life. Harmony,Tone,Time -- all this relates to our lives, from the strictly personal level to a global perspective.
I will hold two weeks with seminars this summer in Vadstena, Sweden.
Seminar I (22-24 June and 13-15 July) is a three day long tour of Musica humana, (necessarily from a birds eye view). 9 hrs, 300 sek.
Seminar II (25-28 June and 16-19 July) is four days long, more interactive, more focused on insight than knowledge. 20 hrs, 1500 sek.
Please contact me for details.
